Full (7-Round) NFC East 2022 NFL Mock Draft
The NFC East has proven to be one of the most unpredictable divisions in the NFL. In fact, there hasn’t been a back to back NFC East champion since 2004, the longest streak in the NFL. With all the teams within the division needing help through the draft, lets take a look at how the 2022 NFL may shape up for the most unpredictable division in football.
New York Giants:
To say the Giants have a lot of needs that they need to address this offseason is a major understatement. With new Head Coach Brian Daboll and GM Joe Schoen the Giants are looking at a lot of roster turnover this offseason, and they’ll likely look to the draft to establish a strong foundation for their future.
In the first round I have the Giants selecting Offensive Tackle Ikem Ekwonu, and Corner Ahmad Gardner. The Giants undoubtedly need help on the offensive line so Ekwonu is as easy a pick as any here at the five slot. Meanwhile, Ahmad Gardner may be more of a surprise to Giants fans. Its been heavily rumored that James Bradberry IV could be on the move this offseason due to his high cap hit next season. New Defensive Coordinator Wink Martindale relies on his corners to play heavy man coverage to utilize his heavy blitzing scheme. Even if the Giants decide to stick with Bradberry I could very well see them going corner early to establish one of the best secondaries in the league.
Outside of the first round I have the Giants selecting two offensive guards and a center, due to their dire need of help on the offensive line. Lastly, I wanted to highlight Jermaine Johnson II, an edge rusher from Florida State. Johnson II has been flying up draft boards and reasonably so, he’s an extremely gifted and talented edge rusher and could fill a huge need for the Giants opposite of their young star Azeez Ojulari. This would help lay a great young foundation for the Giants, which they desperately need.

Philadelphia Eagles:
The Eagles were one of the biggest surprises in the NFL last season. Making the playoffs when some thought they could end up as last in the division. None the less, the Philadelphia Eagles are loaded with draft capital and three first round picks due to a trade down, and trading Carson Wentz to the Colts last offseason. The Eagles are in a prime position to make big leaps this year if they can nail this draft.
For their first overall selection I have them selecting linebacker Nakobe Dean out of Georgia, who will provide instant help to their linebacking core and most likely be their best player once he steps in. Then, I have them selecting receiver Jameson Williams to complement their young star Devonta Smith and create a strong and young receiving core. Lastly, I have them selecting Kaiir Elam with their final first round selection to complement Pro Bowl corner Darius Slay. This will fill in a lot of holes for them early and with top talent, which can set them up for a strong run next year.
After the first round I have the Eagles mainly going after depth on the defensive and offensive line so they’re not left hanging when their older starters like Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox hang up their cleats.
Round 1:
Nakobe Dean (LB) ~ Georgia (15)
Jameson Williams (WR) ~ Alabama (16)
Kaiir Elam (DB) ~ Florida (19)

Bryan Cook (S) ~ Cincinnati (160)
Derrick Deese Jr. (TE) ~ San Jose State (164)
Round 6:
Aaron Hansford (LB) ~ Texas A&M (204)
Round 7:

Dallas Cowboys:
The Dallas Cowboys are by far the most talented team in the NFC East. However, they still seem to struggle every year, and this upcoming year will be a challenging one for them. There are currently rumors circling that they may need to cut stars like Amari Cooper and Demarcus Lawrence due to their high cap hits, and their current salary cap situations. However, they also have questions along the offensive line as they’ve taken a huge step back in comparison to their previous standard of being the best in the league. For this reason I have the Cowboys going with Tyler Linderbaum in the first round to help repair that offensive line and learn from some of the best veteran offensive linemen in the league.
In the second round I have them going after corner Kyler Gordon from Washington. This will add another great boundary corner for the Cowboys and give them a great complement to their All-pro corner in Trevon Diggs.
Throughout the rest of the draft I have the Cowboys taking depth players at edge and receiver to help add some talent behind some players that we are uncertain of like Demarcus Lawrence and Amari Cooper.
Round 1:
Tyler Linderbaum (C) ~ Iowa (24)
Round 2:
Kyler Gordon (DB) ~ Washington (56)
Round 3:
Boye Mafe (EDGE) ~ Minnesota (88)
Round 4:
Kellen Diesch (OT) ~ Arizona State (126)
Round 5:
Malachi Carter (WR) ~ Georgia Tech (165)
Nick Cross (S) ~ Maryland (178)
Round 6:
Isaiah Thomas (EDGE) ~ Oklahoma (201)
Round 7:

Washington Commanders:
The Washington Commanders came into last season as the favorites to win the NFC East after winning it the year prior and putting up a great fight to that years Superbowl Champion, The Buccaneers. They did so off the back of one of the best defenses in the league that year. However, last year that same defense took a major step back, and the offense still has many questions, especially at the quarterback position. This is why at the eleventh pick I have the Commanders taking the best defensive player available, in linebacker Devin Lloyd from Utah. The Commanders already have a plethora of pass rushing options in star Chase Young, Montez Sweat, Jonathan Allen, and more. Adding a fantastic do it all linebacker in Lloyd to pair with Jamin Davis would be great for this defense.
Subsequently, I have them picking Malik Willis, Quarterback from Liberty. While Willis is the most raw prospect in this draft, he provides the most upside, and if given the opportunity to sit and learn for a year he could become a top signal caller in the league.
For the rest of the draft I have Washington grabbing some depth along the offensive line and front seven. While also picking up dynamic wide receiver Skyy Moore in the fourth round to provide another option in a slim receiving core.
Round 1:
Devin Lloyd (LB) ~ Utah (11)
Round 2:
Malik Willis (QB) ~ Liberty (43)
Round 3:
Leo Chenal (LB) ~ Wisconsin (75)
Round 4:
Skyy Moore (WR) ~ Western Michigan (113)
Round 5:
No Picks
Round 6:
Jake Ferguson (TE) ~ Wisconsin (189)
Round 7:
Doug Kramer (C) ~ Illinois (228)
